Battery Charger

The battery requires a complete charge before use.  Follow the procedure
below for the first and each succeeding use.

1.  Connect the charger's connector to the battery's connector.  Be sure
    of correct polarity (gray to black).

    NOTE:  If the connectors do not mate easily, do not force them.  They
           fit only one way.  Check that you have positioned the connectors
           properly.

2.  Plug the charger into a standard household AC outlet.  The charging
    indicator lights.

3.  Charge the battery pack for 14 to 16 hours.

    NOTE:  Do not overcharge the battery.  Overcharging can reduce its
           useful life.

4.  When you finish recharging, disconnect the charger from the AC outlet
    first.  Then disconnect the connectors by pushing the tab and pulling
    them apart.  Never disconnect the battery connector by pulling on
    the wires.

CAUTION:  ALWAYS USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN RECHARGING BATTERIES.  Use only
          the Radio Shack 4.8 volt turbo racing battery pack and this Radio
          Shack 4.8 volt charger.  Using an improperly designed charger,
          overcharging, or charging battery packs with one or more damaged
          cells can result in the violent venting of the battery pack,
          causing personal injury or property damage.
