TRC-484 40-Channel CB (210-1556) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 19201 If you experience trouble receiving: Make sure POWER is set to ON. Be sure SQUELCH is adjusted properly. Be sure RF GAIN is fully clockwise. Make sure the CB is switched to an operating channel. Make sure the microphone is securely connected. Check for a good antenna connection. Make sure PA-MON-CB is set to MON or CB. If you experience trouble transmitting: Be sure the antenna cable is securely connected to the antenna connector. Be sure the antenna is fully extended. Be sure all connections are secure and free of corrosion. Be sure the microphone is securely connected. Check the PA-MON-CB setting. If the CB is completely inoperative: Check the DC power cord and in-line fuse. Replace the fuse with only an identical 2-amp fuse. If these tips do not solve the problem, do not attempt repairs or adjustments yourself. Take your CB to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. REPLACING THE FUSE 1. Make sure the power source and CB are both off. 2. Hold the fuse holder by both ends. 3. Push the fuse holder ends together, then turn and release either end. The fuse holder opens. 4. If the fuse has blown, replace it with a 2-amp fuse of the same type and rating (Cat. No. 270-1007). 5. Hold the fuse holder by both ends. 6. Push the fuse holder ends together, then turn either end.
