Flashlight (610-2546) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 32798 The time required to recharge the flashlight (and the number of times it can be recharged) depends on the way you use it. For example, if you use it 45 minutes each time and then recharge, it can be charged about 2000 times. But if you use it 1 1/2 hours (until there is not usable light) each time before recharging, it can be charged about 200 times. Usually, it takes 16 to 24 hours to fully recharge the flashlight. Troubleshooting Tips: Follow these steps if your flashlight does not operate properly: 1. Check the bulb filament. If it is broken, replace the bulb. (Replacement bulb 272-1121 available at your local Radio Shack store.) 2. Make sure that the AC outlet you use for recharging supplies current. To check it, plug in a lamp or appliance and see if it works. 3. If your flashlight does not appear to be charging properly in your car, make sure that the DC charging adapter is plugged all the way into the cigarette lighter receptacle. If this does not work, charge the flashlight for 48 hours in an indoor AC outlet. 4. If you think the battery is defective, charge the flashlight for TWO WEEKS. This will often restore it. Cleaning Plastic Parts: Use a rag or sponge dampened with hot water and mild soap to clean the plastic parts. Do not use any detergent, solvent, or spray cleaners that may contain chemicals or abrasives that could damage the plastic. Replacing the Bulb: Push in the tabs located on each side of the head and pull off the cover. This exposes the bulb. Remove the bulb and replace it. Never replace the bulb while the flashlight is plugged into an AC wall outlet or 12V cigarette lighter receptacle. CAUTION: The battery cell inside your flashlight is permanently sealed and should not leak. Under no circumstances should you break, crush, or burn the battery. It contains poisonous sulfuric acid, which can cause skin burns, eye damage, and property damage on contact. YO/EB 5/6/96)
