CB Transceiver Mount (210-0566) Installation Faxback Doc. # 33596 Choosing a Mounting Location Choose a mounting location which does not interfere with the vehicle's operation, which lets you drill mounting holes without damaging other vehicle components. Wiring Part A Connect the wires before mounting Part A. Refer to the following color codes, connecting two of the supplied wires for power and two for the remote or PA speaker. Use wire nuts to make firm wire connections. RED - Connect to the positive (+) fused lead from a 12-volt DC supply (your vehicle battery). BLACK - Connect to the negative (-), common or ground lead. BLUE - Connect to the remote/PA speaker's positive (+) lead. GREEN - Connect to the remote/PA speaker's ground/common lead. Mounting Part A to Your Vehicle 1. Use the mounting holes on Part A as a guide to mark the locations for the holes to be drilled. 2. Drill 9/64-inch holes in the marked locations, without damaging anything behind the mounting surface. 3. Attach Part A to the mounting surface using the supplied screws. NOTE: If the dash is curved or excessively deep, use washers to space or level the mount. Wiring Part B Refer to the following color codes to connect the four wires and the coaxial connector. Use wire nuts for the power leads. RED - Connect the CB's positive (+) power lead to this wire. BLACK - Connect the CB's negative (-) power lead to this wire. GREEN & BLUE - Connect to a plug that matches the remote/PA speaker jack. Green is for common power and blue is for the tip conductor. Coax Connector - Attach to the CB's Antenna jack. Mounting Part B to Your CB Mount Part B to your CB's supplied mounting bracket(s), using at least two of the provided L-brackets. Use the supplied screws, lockwashers and nuts to securely mount to CB. If your CB transceiver has a bolt on the back, bend the supplied metal strap to form a support bracket. (LB/EB 06/20/96)
