To initialize the unit without clearing memory:

1.  Turn on the scanner.

2.  Press RESET using a ball point pen or something similar to that.


To clear memory and initialize the unit

1.  Turn on the scanner.

2.  Press and hold CLEAR.

3.  Press RESET and release.

4.  Press CLEAR after the display disappears.
