MPS-31 (320-1152) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 15382 MAKING CONNECTIONS CAUTIONS: To prevent electrical shock any AC-powered equipment which you connect to the amplifier should be connected to a 3-prong (grounded) AC outlet. To avoid damaging the MPS-31's speaker, connect the sound source to the amplifier before you connect the amplifier to power. Be sure to turn VOLUME to 0 before you connect the amplifier to power, or before you connect or disconnect a guitar's cable to the amplifier. Connecting a Sound Source Use an output cable with a 1/4-inch (635 mm) plug (such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 42-2437 or 42-978) to connect an electric guitar, keyboard, or microphone to the INPUT jack on the MPS-31. Connecting Headphones To listen privately or to monitor the sound source, connect low-impedance headphones (not supplied) with a 1/4-inch plug into the PHONES jack on the amplifier. Your local Radio Shack store sells a wide selection of headphones. Listening Safely To protect your hearing, follow these guidelines when you use headphones. Set the volume to the lowest setting before you begin listening. After you begin listening, adjust the volume to a comfortable level. Do not listen at extremely high volume levels. Extended high-volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss. Once you set the Volume, do not increase it. Over time, your ears adapt to the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause discomfort might still damage your hearing. Connecting to Power Make sure Volume is set to 0, then connect the AC power cord to a standard AC outlet. (br/all-05/30/95)
