Tabletop Poker (600-2487) Operation Faxback Doc. # 18504 TURNING THE SOUND OFF/ON The game is automatically set to play sound effects. To turn off the sound effects at any time during play, press SOUND (((.))) disappears from the display. To turn the sound effects back on, press SOUND so (((.))) reappears. PLAYING THE GAME Your Tabletop Poker game deals you five different electronic "cards" across its display. Each card's suit symbol (heart, diamond, club, or spade) appears above it on the display. You tell the machine to hold the cards you want to keep, then draw one or more new cards, in order to get a winning poker combination and score points. Follow these steps to play the game. 1. If the game is off, press BET/DEAL/DRAW to turn it on. GAME OVER and the last game's point total and cards appear on the display. NOTES: If you stop playing the game for about 2 minutes, it automatically turns off to save battery power, saving the last game's settings and point total in memory. If GAME OVER does not appear on the display when you turn on the game, the last game's hand was not finished before the game turned off (see Step 4). The game automatically awards you 100 points to start the first game each time you insert batteries. 2. The game automatically selects one-player play each time you insert batteries. To set the game for two players, press PLAYER. Another 100 (points) appears on the display. NOTES: During two-player play, two different point totals (one for each player) always appear on the display. P1 (player 1) or P2 (player 2) appears to tell you which player is currently playing. To select one-player play again, press PLAYER so P2 and the point total on the right side of the display disappear. 3. You can start the game in one of two ways: To place a bet of up to 5 points, press and hold BET/DEAL/DRAW. The game deducts 1 point at a time from your total. Quickly release the button when the desired number of points have been bet. When you release the button, the game deals you 5 cards. To automatically place the maximum bet of 5 points, press MAX.BET. The game deducts a 5-point bet from your point total on the display and deals you 5 cards. 4. Press the HOLD/CANCEL button for each card you want to keep. HELD appears below the card(s). For example, to keep the 1st and 5th cards (from the left), press the 1st and 5th HOLD/CANCEL buttons. NOTES: If you decide you want to discard a card after HELD appears next to it, simply press its HOLD/CANCEL button again so HELD disappears. You can choose to discard all five cards if the game deals a bad hand. 5. Press BET/DEAL/DRAW again. The game deals you new cards to replace those cards you did not hold. If you win, WIN and the winning cards flash, GAME OVER appears on the display, the light on top of the game flashes, and the machine automatically adds the points you won to your total. NOTE: The winning combinations and point awards are shown in the chart above the display. If you lose, only GAME OVER appears on the display. 6. To play again, repeat steps 3-5. NOTE: During two-player play, a player's turn lasts until he/she loses a hand. 7. When you play by yourself, the game ends when you have no points left to bet. During two-player play, the game ends and a player wins the game when the other player has no points left. To play another game, press NEW GAME. USING THE SAVINGS BANK To use your game as a bank, insert coins in the coin slot on top of the game. To collect your savings from inside the game, press the tab on the savings compartment cover, then remove the cover. (JC 12/5/95)
