USING THE ALARM CLOCK

Setting the Clock

NOTE:  The clock disappears if the teller card is inserted in the bank with
       the arrow facing up.

To set the clock to the current time, follow these steps.

1.  Press and hold SET until the hour digits flash.

2.  Press MODE within about 10 seconds to set the correct hour. To rapidly
    change the hour, press and hold MODE.

    PM appears on the display when the clock is set to a PM time.

3.  Press SET.  The minute digits flash.

4.  To set the minute, press MODE within about 10 seconds, or press and
    hold MODE to rapidly change the minute.

5.  When the current minute is set, reset the seconds to 00 by pressing
    TALK while the minute digits are still flashing (within about 10
    seconds).

6.  Press SET to start the clock, or wait 10 seconds for it to start
    automatically.

Setting the Alarm

Follow these steps to set the alarm time.

1.  With the teller card withdrawn, press MODE.  The alarm time appears
    with AL on the right side of the display.

2.  Press and hold SET until the hour digits flash.

3.  Press MODE within about 10 seconds to set the alarm hour you want.

    NOTES:  To rapidly change the hour, press and hold MODE.

            PM appears when the clock is set to a PM time.

4.  Press SET.  The minute digits flash.

5.  Press MODE within about 10 seconds to set the alarm minutes.

6.  When the alarm time is set, press SET.

7.  Press MODE to return to the current time.

To see the alarm time, press MODE.  The alarm time briefly appears.

Turning On/Off the Alarm

To turn on the alarm, press MODE to display the alarm time, then press TALK
while the alarm time is displayed.  ALARM appears at the top of the display
even after the current time display returns.

To turn off the alarm so it will not sound again the next day, press TALK
again while the alarm time is displayed.  ALARM disappears.

USING THE TALKING BANK

Start your savings by inserting quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies into
the appropriate coin slot. The talking bank announces the amount you put in
every time you insert a coin.  For an accurate report of your savings, be
sure to insert your coins into the right slots.

NOTES:  Always keep the talking bank upright to prevent coins from jamming.

        Be sure to insert the coins one by one, so the bank calculates the
        correct amount.

        If the display locks up, remove and reinstall the batteries.  Then
        remove the coins you have saved and insert them into the slot
        again.

Knowing Your Total Savings

To find out the amount of your total savings, insert the teller card into
the card slot with the arrow facing up.

The total amount you have saved in the bank appears on the display.  And
you can press TALK to hear the bank announce, "You now have (amount)."

Withdrawing from the Bank

1.  Insert the key into the keyhole at the back of the bank and turn it
    counterclockwise to unlock it.  The savings compartment cover loosens.

2.  Carefully remove the cover and take out the coins.

    NOTES:  The talking bank resets itself every time you turn the key. The
            savings amount returns to $0.00.

            The current time and alarm time stay set.

3.  Replace the cover and lock it by turning the key clockwise. To hear an 
    announcement, press TALK.  The bank says, "Fill me up."

Setting a Savings Goal

If you are trying to save a certain amount of money, you can use the
talking bank to help you monitor savings and set a savings goal.

1.  Insert the teller card in the card slot.

2.  Press and hold SET until - - - - _ _ appears on the display.

3.  Set your goal by pressing TALK within about 10 seconds.  Each press
    increases the amount by $10.  The amount appears on the display.

NOTES:  The minimum amount for the savings goal is $10, and the maximum is
        $990.

        To reset your goal, press MODE within about 10 seconds.  The
        display returns to - - - - _ _ .  If the total amount you have
        saved appears before you press MODE, press and hold SET until the
        goal amount flashes.  Then press MODE.  The display returns to
        - - - - _ _ .

4.  Press SET to store your goal.

When you reach your savings goal, FULL appears on the display and an alarm
sounds to congratulate you on your achievement.  Press TALK to silence the
alarm.

NOTE:  If you do not withdraw from the bank, FULL appears each time you put
       in a coin and the alarm sounds.  To stop this, press and hold SET.
       When the savings goal appears, press MODE to reset the bank to
       - - - - _ _ , or set a new savings goal for yourself.  Then press
       SET.  You can now continue inserting coins.
