Table Top Blackjack Game (600-2485) Operation Faxback Doc. # 32114 PLAYING THE GAME Your Blackjack game plays according to the following rules: The dealer must draw on any hand totaling 16 or less, and must stand on all hands totaling 17 to 21. You may take insurance (bet that the dealer has a Blackjack) on the dealer's Ace. Insurance payoffs are 2 to 1. You may double down (double your bet and receive only one more card) on any initial two-card combination totaling 10 or 11. If you get a Blackjack (a total of 21 on the first draw), you receive a 3 to 2 payoff. You may split any pair of identical cards into two hands. When you split Aces, you are dealt only one more card per Ace. You may surrender your initial two cards and lose only half your bet if you are not sure of drawing a winning hand. 1. If the display is off, press DEAL/HT to turn on the game with 1,000 points for betting. The display looks like this: NOTES: The game automatically turns off if you do not play for about 1 minute. The next time you press DEAL/HIT to turn on the game, the display shows where you left off in the last game. 2. Turn the sound effects on or off. To turn off the sound effects, press MUSIC NOTE. A low tone sounds. To add the sound effects again, press MUSIC NOTE. A high tone sounds. To turn on the bell, set BELL/JACKPOT ON/OFF to ON. If you win the game, the bell rings. 3. Press DEAL/HIT. The game shuffles the cards with a flashing SHUFFLE on the display, then deals two cards to you and two cards to the dealer. The game automatically subtracts your 10-point bet from your total points. The display prompts you for your play options. NOTES: One of the dealer's cards is dealt face up and is called the exposed card. The other is dealt face down and is known as the downcard or hole card. During shuffling, cards flash on the display when the deck is down to its last few cards. 4. Choose your option: Stand, Double Down, Surrender, Split, or Insurance. See "Choosing Your Options." 5. After each round the display shows the game status. If the dealer wins the hand, he collects the bet and the game subtracts your losses. Your total points and a flashing GAME OVER appear on the screen. If you win the hand, you collect the bet and a flashing GAME OVER and WIN appear. When playing Face Up Blackjack, you cannot surrender or take insurance and the dealer wins on a push. Bets are paid off evenly. For example, a 10-point bet wins 10 points. There are only two exceptions: If you get a Blackjack (a total of 21 on the first draw), you get a 3 to 2 payoff-you win 15 points for your 10 point bet. If you have doubled your bet. See "Choosing Your Options." NOTES: You get a bonus of 25 and BONUS appears on the display if you have a combination of cards that includes 7-7-7, or 6-7-8 total 21 points. The display can only show up to 9999 points. If you score more than 9999, the display shows 9999. 6. Press DEAL/HIT to play the next round. FACE UP When GAME OVER flashes on the display, you can press GAME so FACE UP appears on the top left corner of the display, then press DEAL/HIT to resume play with both of the dealer's cards facing up. To resume the regular Blackjack game with a dealer's downcard, when GAME OVER flashes on the display, press GAME again so FACE UP disappears. CHOOSING YOUR OPTIONS Stand Press STAND if you are satisfied with your hand and do not want to hit, split, or double down. The play goes to the dealer. Hit Press DEAL/HIT to request an additional card if you are not satisfied with your current hand. The game deals you a card each time you press DEAL/HIT until you STAND, reach 21 points, or bust. The game automatically updates your running total on the display. Double Down If your first two cards total 10 or 11, DOUBLE DOWN flashes on the display. You can press DOUBLE DOWN to double your bet. The bet is subtracted from your total score, and you can only take one more card. Split If your first two cards are a pair, split appears on the display. You can press SPLIT to split the cards and play two hands, indicated with H1 and H2 respectively. Your bet automatically doubles, and the bet is subtracted from your score. NOTE: You cannot split if your card total is less than your bet. Surrender When SURRENDER flashes on the display, you can press SURRENDER to give up your hand. SURRENDER appears steadily on the display, and you lose half your bet (whether or not the dealer's hand is greater than yours). Insurance When the dealer's exposed card is an Ace, INSURANCE flashes on the display. You can take insurance (protect your bet) against the dealer having Blackjack. The insurance bet is half of your original bet. To accept insurance, press INSURE/SHUFFLE. LOSE appears on the display and the insurance bet is subtracted from your total score. To decline insurance, press DEAL/HIT or STAND. NOTES: You cannot insure your bet if your card total is less than half of your bet. If you want to accept insurance and double down or split, you must choose INSURE/SHUFFLE before the other options. If the dealer has Blackjack, you win the insurance bet. If you also have Blackjack, your original bet is added to your total score. If you do not have Blackjack, you lose your original bet. If the dealer does not have Blackjack, you lose the insurance bet. LOSE flashes on the display, and you can continue to play your hand.
