Portable 1750L Sixty Four Level Chess Computer (600-2444) Batteries Faxback Doc. # 32296 INSTALLING/REPLACING BATTERIES Your chess computer uses three AA batteries (not included). Fresh alkaline batteries, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-552, can provide up to 400 hours of playing time. 1. Switch GO/STOP to STOP to turn off the computer. 2. Press down the catch of the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow as indicated, then lift and remove the cover. 3. If necessary, remove and discard the old batteries. CAUTION: Dispose of batteries promptly and properly; do not bury or burn them. NOTE: Saved game information is lost when you remove the batteries. 4. Insert three AA batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) inside the compartment. CAUTIONS: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Do not mix old and new batteries. 5. Replace the cover. CAUTIONS: Never leave dead or weak batteries in the computer. If the computer will not be used for several days, and you do not want to save a game, remove the batteries. If the computer does not function properly, replace the batteries. If it still does not function properly, you might need to reset the computer. See "Resetting the Chess Computer", below. RESETTING THE CHESS COMPUTER If your computer does not work properly, you might need to reset it. To reset the computer, insert a pointed object, such as a straightened paper clip, into the ACL hole on the bottom of the computer for about 2 seconds. (LB/eb 04/26/96)
