Follow these steps to install the supplied button cell battery.

1.  Slide the mounting bracket off the thermometer. 

2.  Unscrew the battery compartment cover with a coin, then lift off the 
    cover. 

3.  Insert the battery into the compartment with the positive (+) side 
    facing up. 

    NOTE:  Do not touch the new battery.  Install it by using clean gloves
           or a clean, soft cloth.  Fingerprint oil will shorten the life
           of the battery.

4.  Replace the cover, then tighten it using a coin.          

NOTES:  The thermometer displays a temperature immediately after the 
        battery is installed. 
 
        Replace the battery when the display dims or disappears.  For the 
        longest life, we recommend an alkaline battery, such as Radio 
        Shack Cat. No. 23-115. 
 
WARNING:  Promptly dispose of an old battery and keep it out of reach of 
          young children.  Swallowing a button-cell battery can be fatal.
