2-Station Wireless (430-0486) Installation Faxback Doc. # 14124 Intercom SELECTING A LOCATION The intercom consists of two stations. You can install the stations almost anywhere there is a standard AC outlet. You can place each station on a desktop or table or mount it on a wall. Notes: Stations can transmit up to 300 feet and between building, as long as they are connected to the same power line transformer. Most residential and many commercial properties meet this requirement. Placing the stations too close together (for example, in the same room) creates feedback, which produces a squealing sound. CONNECTING TO POWER Simply plug each station's power cord into an outlet and you are ready to communicate. MOUNTING A STATION ON A WALL To mount a station on the wall, you need two screws (not included) with heads that fit into the station's keyhole slots. Follow these steps to mount a station on the wall. 1. On the mounting surface, mark two dots (one above the other) 2 3/4 inches apart. 2. Drill pilot holes on each mark. 3. Thread the screws into the holes until the heads extend about 1/8 inch from the wall. 4. Place the station's keyhole slots over the screw heads and gently pull down the station to secure it. USING ADDITIONAL STATIONS You can add additional stations to the intercom. Any Radio Shack wireless intercom that transmits on the same frequency (200 kHz) is compatible. If you want to set up a separate intercom system, be sure it operates on a different frequency. (LB/all-03/13/95)
