2-Station Wireless (430-0486) Operation Faxback Doc. # 14125 Intercom TURNING THE STATIONS ON/OFF To turn on a station, turn VOLUME clockwise until it clicks. The POWER indicator lights. Then sets VOLUME to midrange. To turn a station off, turn VOLUME counterclockwise until it clicks. CALLING 1. Press CALL. A tone sounds at the other station, and your station's TALK indicator lights until you release CALL. 2. Press and hold down TALK and speak in a normal voice. The TALK indicator lights. Release TALK when you finish speaking, and listen for the response. The TALK indicator turns off. Notes: If your voice sounds distorted, you might be speaking too loudly or too close to the microphone. Pressing LOCK has the same effect as holding down TALK. Use it to free your hands while talking for a long period of time. Press TALK to release LOCK when you are ready to listen. LISTENING When you hear a call tone or a caller's voice, adjust VOLUME to a comfort- able listening level. Note: Only one party can talk on the intercom at a time. Wait until the other party finishes before answering. MONITORING You can use the intercom to monitor another station's location (such as a nursery or playroom). 1. Press LOCK on the station in the area you want to monitor. The TALK indicator lights. Note: The TALK indicator lights as long as LOCK is on. 2. Listen from your station. 3. To release the lock, press TALK on the monitored station. The TALK indicator turns off. Note: You cannot call or talk to the monitored station while it is locked.
