Caller ID System 400 (430-0958) Hints and Tips Faxback Doc. # 15738 This unit will only store a maximum of seven repeat calls. If a caller calls eight or more times, the information is not stored. The number of calls is counted from the last review of the calls stored. Date and time of the call do not matter in this case. Q: A user is trying to restrict a call from a certain caller. This caller can call once, see that his number is blocked and then call right back and get through to the user's answering machine. Is the caller able to do this because he is somehow overriding the restrictions such as a speed dialer can with a Call Restrictor? A: The caller cannot override the Caller ID restrictions. However if the user has it set to restrict a certain number but not anonymous calls, the caller may be using the Caller ID Block Code (*76) to call anonymously. This would result in the above situation. If inspite of using both Specific Number and Anonymous Blocking, the caller is still able to get through, then the Caller ID System may be defective. If the Caller Id unit displays a question mark instead of a comma between last name and first name, the unit may be defective. The normal operation for this Caller ID is to time out to the Time/Date Display. As per the available information on this unit, there is no way to circumvent this. (IR/ir-11/07/95)
