Stop the car in a safe location. Some state laws require this procedure. When you are near construction sites where explosives are used, look for and observe warnings against mobile transmission. Turn off your telephone. Do not operate the ignition switch during a call when the transceiver is powered by the vehicle's batter; the call might be cut off. You may remove the antenna before washing the vehicle or to prevent theft. However, be sure to replace the antenna before operating the phone. Failure to do so can damage the phone.
