The Radio Shack TAD-278 Remote Control Telephone Answering System is a
combination multi-feature telephone and answering system.  It's easy to
operate and offers many special features.

TELEPHONE

                           Redial - Dials the last number dialed with
                                    the press of a button,

     Touch-Tone or Pulse (Rotary) - Lets you use the TAD with tone
     Dialing                        or pulse service.

                            Flash - Generates a timed switchhook signal
                                    for specialized services, such as
                                    call waiting.

                            Reset - Disconnects a call so you don't
                                    have to hang up the handset before
                                    making another call.

ANSWERING SYSTEM

      Digitally Recorded Outgoing - Provides clear quality sound.
      Message (OGM)

         Remote Control Operation - Lets you operate the TAD from a
                                    remote touch-tone phone or from
                                    a pulse phone using a pocket tone
                                    dialer.

             Automatic Toll-Saver - Saves unnecessary toll charges when
                                    you call long-distance to check
                                    your messages.

                   Call Screening - Lets you listen while a caller
                                    leaves a message so you can decide
                                    if you want to answer the call.

                   Memo Recording - Lets you leave reminders for
                                    yourself or messages for others.

             Single Microcassette - Records incoming messages and
                                    records a backup of your outgoing
                                    message.

VOX (Voice-Operated Transmission) - Stops recording after several
                                    seconds of silence to conserve
                                    tape space.

                Message Indicator - Shows how many messages and memos
                                    are recorded on the tape.

        Hearing-Aid Compatibility - Operates with a hearing aid with a
                                    T (telephone) switch.

This TAD has been tested and found to comply with all applicable UL and
FCC standards.
