Q:  Does not respond to base other than sounding three beeps.

A:  Remove AC from base for more than 30 seconds.  Disconnect battery from
    handset and return handset to base with battery disconnected. Then
    reconnect battery in handset and AC to base.  Wait for about 30
    seconds and lift handset.  If unit still fails to operate, send it to
    service.
