ET-410 DuoFone Cordless Telephone System (430-0551A) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 17894 We don't expect any problems with the ET-410, but if problems arise, try these suggestions. You have Interference from another Cordless Telephone - The ET-410 is available in four different operating frequencies. If there are interference problems from another cordless telephone in the neighborhood, the unit may be exchanged for a different frequency unit within 30 days of the date of purchase. Doesn't Work - Check the AC power and telephone connections to the Base Unit. - Be sure the antennas on both units are fully extended. - Make sure the Handset battery pack is charged. - The security code was not properly entered or has been lost. Try entering it again following the sequence on page 15 of the Owner's Manual. - Make sure the TALK-HOLD-INTERCOM switch is in the desired position. - Be sure the POWER switch is set to ON. You Hear a Series of Beep Tones from the Handset NOTE: When TALK PUSH HANG-UP is pressed, the security code is transmitted from the Handset to the Base Unit. If the Base Unit doesn't "recognize" the code the first time, the Handset will send the code several times before "giving up". If the beep tones sound and then the ET-410 works normally, this is what has happened. - Out of communication range. Move closer to the Base Unit. - The security code has not been entered properly or has been lost; enter the security code following the sequence outlined on page 15 of the Owner's Manual. - AC power to the Base Unit has been lost; make sure the power cord is plugged in. The Range is Shortened - Batteries are low. - Extend Base Unit and Handset antennas. - Re-locate the Base to a less shielded area. You Cannot Receive a Signal - Out of range. - The security code has not been entered properly or has been lost; enter the security code following the sequence outlined on page 15 of the Owner's Manual. Telephone calls are automatically switched and routed through a complex network of equipment. Weak or noisy lines are occasionally encountered in this network, and calls will sometimes have to be redialed. (cjs/all-11/13/95)
