Caller ID System 320 (430-0957) Hints and Tips Faxback Doc. # 17938 ICLID Number: Most Caller ID messages have an ICLID number. This is usually a ten digit number composed of the three-digit area-code, the three-digit office exchange , and the four-digit phone number extension. However, Belcore specs indicate that this number can be as many as sixteen digits, but currently there is no known system that sends more than ten in the ICLID. When the Caller ID displays the ICLID, it separates each of these components with a dash. Example of an ICLID number: 214-555-1212 DDN: Some areas will also provide a DDN. This is a number that if dialed exactly as displayed will allow you to reach the person that called you. The Caller ID System does not insert dashes into the DDN when displayed. Not all areas provide the DDN. Example of a DDN: 12145551212 The Caller ID displays only ten-digit ICLIDs. If the display has dashes in it, there are only ten numbers to see. Pressing READ will have no effect. The Caller ID displays DDNs up to sixteen digits long. Since the display will hold only ten, you may press the READ button to display the rest of the numbers. If both ICLID and DDN are provided in the user's service area, this Caller ID System gives precedence to the ICLID.
