PGN-400 Nationwide Pager (170-9001) Installing the Battery Faxback Doc. # 18267 Your pager requires one AAA battery. For the best performance, we recommend an alkaline battery, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-555. 1. Set catch A to the left position. 2. Slide off the battery door in the direction of the arrow. 3. Insert the battery as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) inside the battery compartment. Caution: Only use a fresh battery of the required size and type. 4. Replace the battery door and set catch A to the right position to lock the battery door. NOTES: The pager alerts for 5 seconds when you install/replace the battery. Turn the pager off when it is not in use to conserve the battery. The battery should last for about 850 to 950 hours of continuous use. LOW BATTERY WARNING When the battery's power is low, an alert tone sounds every 30 minutes and BATTERY LOW appears on the display. When this occurs, replace the battery. USING THE BELT CLIP Your Nationwide Pager comes with a combination belt clip and holster. To use the belt clip for easy carrying, slide in the pager from the right side of the holster until it clicks into place. Press down on the top of the clip and slide it over your belt or pocket, then release the clip. Slide the pager to the right to remove it from the holster. (PH 11/29/95)
