ET-504 (430-1007) Battery Faxback Doc. # 18559 REPLACING THE BATTERY When the handset battery pack will no longer recharge, replace it. Order a replacement battery pack from your local Radio Shack store. 1. Remove the rubber plug from the front of the phone. Then remove the screw securing the battery compartment cover. 2. Press the battery compartment cover on the lower back of the handset and slide it off. 3. Remove the battery pack and unplug the battery connection. 4. Fasten the new battery's connector and place it on the compartment. 5. Replace the cover and secure it with the screw you removed in Step 1, making sure the wires are inside the compartment. Then press the rubber plug over the screw. NOTE: The phone contains one rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery pack. At the end of the battery pack's useful life, it must be recycled or disposed of properly. Contact your local, county, or state hazardous waste management authorities for information on recycling or disposal programs in your area. Some options that might be available are: municipal curb-side collection, drop-off boxes at retailers, recycling collection centers, and mailback programs. (CS 12/7/95)
