ET-330 Cordless Electronic Telephone System (430-0267) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 19218 We don't expect you to have problems with your ET-330, but if you do, try these suggestions. YOU HAVE INTERFERENCE FROM ANOTHER CORDLESS TELEPHONE The ET-330 is available in four different operating frequencies. If you have interference problems from another cordless telephone in your neighborhood, you may exchange your unit for a different frequency unit within 30 days of the date of purchase. DOESN'T WORK Check the AC power and telephone connections to the Base Unit. Be sure the antennas on both units are fully extended. Make sure Handset battery pack is charged. The security code was not properly entered or has been lost. Try entering it again following the sequence in Faxback Doc. # 19216, Preparation. Make sure the INTERCOM switch is in the desired position. Be sure the READY/OFF switch is set to READY. YOU HEAR A SERIES OF BEEP TONES FROM THE HANDSET NOTE: When TALK is pressed, the security code is transmitted from the Handset to the Base Unit. If the Base Unit doesn't "recognize" the code the first time, the Handset will send the code several times before "giving up." If you hear the beep tones and then the ET-330 works normally, that is what has happened. You are out of communication range. Move close to the Base Unit or AC power lines. The security code has not been entered properly or has been lost; enter the security code following the sequence in Faxback Doc.# 19216, Preparation. AC power to the Base Unit has been lost; make sure the power cord is plugged in. THE RANGE IS SHORTENED You are out of range. The security code has not been entered properly or has been lost; enter the security code following the sequence on Faxback Doc.# 19216, Preparation. YOU CANNOT RECEIVE A SIGNAL You are out of range. The security code has not been entered properly or has been lost; enter the security code following the sequence on Faxback Doc. # 19217, Security Code. Telephone calls are automatically switched and routed through a complex network of equipment. You will occasionally encounter a weak or noisy line and will have to redial the call. NOTE: The ET-330 cannot be used to communicate with tone-access equipment, such as alternate long-distance services or bank-by-phone. These services require actual tone codes; the ET-330 sends out pulses when you press the keys, not tones. You must use true tone equipment for these services. (CS 12/19/95)
