TAD-1002 (430-0742) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 19498 If you experience problems with your TAD, try the suggestions in this section. If you still have problems, contact your Radio Shack store for assistance. The incoming message is incomplete. The maximum recording time for each message is 30 seconds. If the length of the message exceeds 30 seconds, the remaining portion is not recorded. The TAD automatically stops if the caller is silent for over 7 seconds. The TAD stops recording and disconnects the call if the memory is full. The incoming message is unclear. Be sure VOLUME is turned up. The TAD does not answer after two or four rings. Check if the TAD is set to answer calls (ANS or A.O. indicator lights). Make sure RING SELECT 2/4/TS is set correctly. Lo flashes on the display The backup battery is weak. Replace the battery immediately. 12:00 flashes on the display. A power failure has occurred. Reset the time (see "Setting the Time", see Faxback Doc. # 19496). Cannot record incoming message Be sure the TAD is set to the ANS mode. The TAD does not respond to the remote operation security code. Make sure the phone you used to dial the TAD is a touch-tone phone. There is line interference, or your touch-tone signals are not long and clear enough for the TAD to recognize. Re-enter your security code and press each button for 2 seconds. Make sure the remote operation security code you entered is correct. No messages appear on the display This could be caused by a power failure. Reset the TAD by removing the AC adapter and the battery from the TAD then reinstalling them. (EB 1/8/96)
