If it is not, try the following suggestions. If you cannot determine the cause of the problem, take the phone to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. The Phone Does Not Work Confirm that the battery and handset antenna are installed correctly. Place the handset on the base for at least 10 seconds. Leave the handset in the base for several hours to charge the battery. Be sure the telephone and AC power cords are correctly connected. Be sure the AC power outlet has power. The Phone Does Not Ring With Incoming Calls Set the Volume OFF/LOW/HIGH switch to LOW or HIGH. Cannot Hear The Other Party Increase the handset volume by pressing VOLUME. Charge or replace the battery. Cannot Get A Dial Tone Confirm that the telephone cord is correctly connected. Move the handset closer to the base. Make sure that other telephones in the house are hung up. The Battery Will Not Hold A Charge Or Batt Low Blinks Even After A Full Charge Confirm CHARGE lights when you place the handset on the base. If it does not, clean the charging contacts on the phone and on the base. Replace the battery. The Range Is Shorter Than Normal Press CHAN to select a new channel. Position the base's antenna so it is vertical. Confirm that the handset's antenna is secure. The Phone Beeps and Talk Blinks Move the handset closer to the base. Place the handset on the base for a least 10 seconds. Batt Low Blinks Charge the battery. Place the handset on the base for at least 5 seconds. Cannot Hear the Page Alert Tone Set the VOLUME OFF/LOW/HIGH switch to LOW or HIGH. Phone Does Not Work During A Power Failure This phone does not operate when power is off.
