[11] key is also used for [PAUSE]. [STORE] Key ..............prepares the DUOFONE-100 for phone number entry into memory. [ENTER] Key ..............used to "open" a memory location when preparing to load a number there. Each phone number memory location can store up to 15 digits. [CANCEL] Key .............used to cancel any pending function just the same as receiver hang-up. After you store a phone number, always press [CANCEL] Key. AUTO/MANUAL ..............used when entering pause. If the switch is set Selector Switch AUTO, phone number will be dialing automatically after the pause. In MANUAL position, you can release the pause by pressing the Number key (in which you stored phone number). [11] or PAUSE Key ........used to "pause" the DUOFONE while auto-dialing a number. Pause becomes part of the entered number; pressing [PAUSE] once will insert an indefinite pause (which can be released by pressing the memory location key). If you want only a 3-second pause (for example to allow access through an in-house phone system), set AUTO/MANUAL Selector Switch to AUTO position and press [PAUSE] once; this will insert a 3-second pause in the phone dialing sequence. [PAUSE] Key is also used for the [11]th memory location for automatic dialer function. On the Rear Phone Jack................plug your phone into this mini-modular jack. AC Power Supply...........must be plugged into standard AC line source (120 volt, 60 Hz). Telephone Cord............to connect to a mini-modular telephone jack. 10/20.....................is the dialing rate switch. (The output from the DUOFONE-100 is a pulse signal - a rapid succession of on/off signals.) Note: the 20 position is for the fastest dialing. However, some older telephone systems (especially rotary) may not be able to handle the fast pulsing. If the 20 position results in erratic operation, switch to 10. On the Bottom Battery Compartment.......is for installing two type "AA" batteries, which provide back-up power to hold the numbers stored in memory in case of power failure. THE FCC WANTS YOU TO KNOW It's VERY unlikely...but if your DUOFONE-100 causes problems on the phone line, the Telephone Company has the right to temporarily discontinue your service. If this ever happens, the Telephone Company will notify you and give you a chance to have the problem corrected. Also, the Telephone Company does have the right to make changes in their lines and/or equipment. If these changes affect your DUOFONE-100 or require changes in its connection, the Phone Company will notify you in writing so you can take whatever steps necessary to insure uninterrupted telephone service. NOTE: The DUOFONE-100 can not be used to communicate with tone-access equipment, such as Bank-by-phone or consumer WATS services. Such services require actual tone codes for correct accessing; the DUOFONE-100 uses an out-pulsing technique. For such service requirements, use a tone-type telephone. (CS/all-02/28/96)
