ET-274 Slim Phone (430-0594) Operation Faxback Doc. # 19647 PLACING A CALL Simply lift the handset and dial the number. REDIALING Each time you dial a number, the telephone stores it in the temporary redial memory. The redial memory holds up to 32 digits (31 in the tone mode). The redial number is replaced each time you dial a new number. NOTES: If you enter more than 32 digits (31 in tone mode), the redial memory doesn't store any of the numbers. If you press FLASH while dialing a number, the digits preceding Flash are not stored in memory. To use redial, lift the handset and press REDIAL. The phone automatically dials the number for you. USING FLASH Many special phone services require a switchhook signal. FLASH provides the electronic equivalent of a switchhook operation. For example, if you have call waiting, you can put your current call on hold and answer another call by pressing FLASH. Press FLASH again to alternate between the two calls. NOTES: Neither the Flash entry nor any digits you dial before you press FLASH are stored in redial memory. If you do not have any special telephone services, pressing FLASH might disconnect your current call. USING TONE SERVICES WITH A PULSE LINE Some special services, such as alternate long-distance and bank-by-phone, require tone signals. If you have pulse service, you can still use special tone services by following these steps. 1. Call the special service using pulse dialing. 2. When the special service answers, set TONE/PULSE MODE to TONE or press *. 3. Follow the normal procedures for the special service you are using. Any additional numbers dialed are sent by touch-tone. 4. When you finish the call, hang up the phone, then set TONE/PULSE MODE back to PULSE. NOTE: Some special services use the * and # buttons in the tone mode. (EB 2/13/96)
