ET-274 Slim Phone (430-0594) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 19648 SETTING THE RINGER SWITCH Your telephone has a RINGER OFF/LOW/HIGH switch. Set the switch as follows: OFF - The telephone does not ring. You can still answer incoming calls (if an extension phone rings) and make outgoing calls. LOW - The ringer sounds a quiet tone. Use this setting when a ringing phone might disturb someone else, but you still need to hear the ringer. HIGH - The ringer sounds a normal tone. SETTING THE TONE/PULSE SWITCH Set the TONE/PULSE MODE switch for the type of service you have. If you are not sure which type of service you have, do this test. 1. Set TONE/PULSE MODE to TONE. 2. Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone. 3. Press any number button other than 0. If the dial tone stops, you have touch-tone service. If the dial tone continues, you have pulse service. Set TONE/PULSE MODE back to PULSE. NOTE: The # button does not function when TONE/PULSE MODE is set to PULSE. (EB 2/13/96)
