INSTALLING THE PHONE

NOTE:  The phone company can charge you for the installation of the 
       necessary jacks.  The USOC number of the jack to be installed is
       RJ11C (RJ11W for a wall jack).

USING THE PHONE

Press and hold down MUTE to carry on a conversation with someone in the
room without being overheard by the person on the phone.

Switch to TONE or PULSE to match the type of service you have.

Press REDIAL to dial the last number dialed (up to 32 tone or pulse
digits).

Plug the handset cord into the jacks on the handset and base.

Press FLASH to produce a timed switch hoot signal for special services such
as call waiting.  NOTE:  If you do not subscribe to any special services,
pressing FLASH might disconnect the call.

Momentarily press RESET to end a call and get a new dial tone.

Set RINGER to sound or not to sound.  You can make calls with the ringer
off, and you can receive calls if you hear another phone on the same line
ringing or see the phone's lights flash.

Press to disconnect a call.
