You can make calls with the ringer off, and you can receive calls with the ringer off, if you hear another phone on the same line ring or see the LED light. Switch to T (Tone) or P (Pulse) to match the type of service you have. If you have pulse (rotary) service, you can switch to T during a call to use tone services. Press MEMORY once before you enter the location number for the phone number you want to store or dial. See "Storing/Dialing Numbers in Memory," below. The LED lights when the phone rings, even when the ringer is off. Press the hookswitch to disconnect a call. Press REDIAL to dial the last number dialed (up to 31 tone or 32 pulse digits). Press FLASH instead of the switchhook for special services such as call waiting. Press STORE once to enter the telephone number you want to store. See "Storing/Dialing Numbers in Memory," below. Press and hold PRIVACY to switch off the microphone during a call so you can listen to your caller without being heard. STORING/DIALING NUMBERS IN MEMORY To store a number into memory: 1. Lift the handset and press STORE. 2. Enter the telephone number you want to store, up to 15 digits in tone mode and 16 digits in pulse mode. 3. Enter the number (P1-P3) for the one-touch memory location, or press MEMORY once and enter the number (0-9) for the speed-dial memory location where you want to store the phone number. 4. Repeat Steps 1-3 to store additional numbers. Return the handset to the cradle when you finish storing numbers. Use the handset's index sheet to record stored numbers. To dial a number in memory: 1. Lift the handset. 2. Press the number for the one-touch memory location (P1-P3), or press MEMORY and enter the speed-dial memory location number for the phone number you want to call.
