The big-button design also gives ease of operation for young children and older adults. Other features include the following: Priority Memory Dialing - lets you store a phone number in one of three memory locations and call that number with the touch of a button. Additional Memory Dialing - lets you store a phone number in one of 10 memory locations and quickly call that number with a code. Last-Number Redial - lets you quickly redial the last number you dialed. Amplified Handset - lets you increase the handset's volume level for noisy areas or for the hearing impaired. Hold - lets you place a call on hold. Hold Indicator - shows whether a call is on hold. Touch Tone or Pulse - operates with touch tone or pulse service and Dialing lets you switch from pulse dialing to tone dialing for access to long-distance, bank-by- phone, or other special services. Ringer Control - lets you set the ringer's volume or turn off the ringer. Hearing-Aid Compatible - lets you use this telephone with hearing aids that have a T (telephone) switch. This telephone has been tested and found to comply with all applicable UL standards. RINGER EQUIVALENCE NUMBER We have designed your phone to confirm to federal regulations and you can connect it to most telephone lines. However, each telephone that you connect to the telephone line draws power from the telephone line. We refer to this power draw as the device's Ringer Equivalence Number or REN. The REN is shown on the bottom of your telephone. If you use more than one telephone or other device on the line, add up all the RENs. If the total is more than five, your telephones might not ring. In rural areas, a total REN of three might impair ringer operation. FCC STATEMENT Your telephone complies with Part 68 of FCC Rules. You must, upon request, provide the FCC registration number and the REN to your telephone company. Both numbers are shown on the bottom of the telephone.
