PLACING A CALL Follow these steps to place a call and use the amplifier: 1. Lift the phone's handset and dial the telephone number. 2. After the person answers, press AMPLIFIER until it locks. Then hang up the handset. 3. Speak toward the amplifier. 4. As the person responds, adjust VOLUME for the desired volume level. 5. To end the call, press AMPLIFIER to release the button. ANSWERING A CALL When the phone rings, press AMPLIFIER until it locks. Then, speak to the caller and adjust VOLUME as needed. To end the call, press AMPLIFIER to release the button. USING PRIVACY The amplifier's privacy feature prevents the other party from hearing you, even though you can still hear the other party. This feature is also useful by helping you listen to a weak connection or helping you hear the other party if you are in a noisy area. Press PRIVACY until it locks. This prevents the other party from hearing you. When you want to talk to the other person, press PRIVACY to release the button. (CS 12/7/95)
