Telephone Amplifier System (430-0200) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 32059 If you have a problem with the amplifier, check the following information to solve the problem. PROBLEM SOLUTION __________________________________________________________________________ The amplifier does not work. Check the connection to the phone line. __________________________________________________________________________ You cannot place a call. Check the phone line connection. The AMPLIFIER button is ON (locked) when you lift the handset. Press AMPLIFIER to release the button. Then pick up the handset and dial the number. ___________________________________________________________________________ You cannot hear the other party. The background noise around the amplifier will not allow it to receive the other party's transmission. Press in PRIVACY, or press and release AMPLIFIER and use the phone as normal. __________________________________________________________________________ The other party cannot hear you. The PRIVACY button is locked. Press and release PRIVACY. ___________________________________________________________________________ The telephone line is weak or There is a poor connection. Speak noisy. louder or ask the other party to speak louder. Also, redialing the call might help. Someone picked up another phone on the same line as the amplifier, causing the volume to drop slightly. Have the person hang up the phone. There is not enough phone line current to power the amplifier. Connect an optional 9V, 300 mA AC adapter as described under "Connecting the Amplifier, see Faxback Doc.# , Installation. __________________________________________________________________________ The voice from the speaker is The VOLUME setting is too high.
