Mobile Mounting Kit for CT-302 (170-0606) Installation Faxback Doc. # 32775 The mounting bracket's location is very important. Choose a mounting location that: Does not interfere with the operation of the vehicle Does not increase the possibility of an accident Provides a solid surface for mounting the base Lets you mount the base without damaging objects on the other side of the mounting surface Provides easy access to the phone and Cigarette-lighter plug Permits convenient routing of the cigarette-lighter adapter power cord You can assemble the mounting bracket with both extension arms, either extension arm, or no extension arms. In some cases, it is best to attach only the telephone holder with the supplied pan-head self-tapping screws. This flexibility of assembly and the proper choice of the mounting location lets you install the bracket in almost any vehicle. After you choose a mounting location, follow these steps: 1. Use the base as a template to mark the positions for the four screw holes. 2. Drill 1/8-inch (or slightly larger) holes at each of the marked locations. CAUTION: Be sure not to drill into objects on the other side of the mounting surface. 3. Position the base over the holes and install the four hex-head self- tapping screws. Use a Phillips-head Screwdriver or a 5/16-inch Socket Wrench to tighten the screws. Use the base spacer if you mount the base on a curved surface. CAUTION: Be sure the screws do not extend into objects on the other side of the mounting surface. To prevent this, you might need to use shorter self-tapping screws (not supplied). 4. Position the base swivel on the base, and attach it with a lock washer and a hex-head bolt. Use the supplied hex-head wrench to tighten the bolt. 5. Attach one or two extension arms according to the mounting area using lock washers and hex-head bolts. If desired, you can attach the telephone holder and the bracket to the base swivel without extension arms. 6. Attach the telephone holder and the holder bracket with the panhead bolts and nuts. Be sure to mount the telephone holder with its stops toward the bottom. (ALL-05/15/96)
