Mobile Mounting Kit for CT-302 (170-0606) Operation Faxback Doc. # 32776 INSERTING AND REMOVING THE PHONE Place the phone in the holder bracket by aligning the grooves on the side of the phone with the protrusions on the inside of the bracket. The bracket has a special safety catch that keeps the phone locked in place. To remove the phone from the bracket, tilt the top of the phone forward and lift the phone out of the bracket. USING THE CIGARETTE-LIGHTER ADAPTER The supplied cigarette-lighter adapter lets you recharge and power the phone in your vehicle. To connect the adapter, plug the coiled cord's power tip into the bottom of the phone. Be sure you align the adapter's tabs with the slots on the bottom of the phone. Then, plug the cigarette-lighter adapter into your vehicle's cigarette-lighter socket. The phone continues to charge until it is fully charged, whether or not it is in use or turned on. NOTE: If the battery is too hot or too cold to charge, the green indicator flashes. The phone waits for the battery to return to a normal temperature before it begins charging. The cigarette-lighter adapter has a two-color indicator to show you the charging stage. If the indicator is not lit, the cigarette-lighter adapter is not properly connected. when the indicator lights red, the phone is quick-charging (charging the battery to full capacity). When the indicator lights green, the phone is trickle-charging (maintaining a full charge). FUSE REPLACEMENT If the indicator does not light, the fuse in the cigarette-lighter adapter or the fuse in the vehicle's fuse box might be blown. To remove the old fuse in the adapter, unscrew the tip on the end of the cigarette-lighter plug. Replace the fuse with the supplied spare fuse or an identical 3A fuse. USING AN EXTERNAL ANTENNA When you use your phone in a vehicle, we recommend you use an external antenna. Most popular types of cellular antennas are available at your local Radio Shack store. For antenna installation, follow the instructions included with the antenna. Then, route the antenna cable to the external antenna jack on the end of the cigarette-lighter adapter. Be sure to the ANTENNA switch to EXT. If you operate the telephone on the inside of the vehicle with the flexible antenna, set the ANTENNA switch to INT. NOTE: You can use an external antenna if the adapter is plugged into the cigarette-lighter socket and power is supplied to the adapter. (ALL-05/15/96)
