Fast Charger for CT-302 (170-0605) Operation Faxback Doc. # 32781 This Tandy Rapid Charger can recharge the battery pack inside the CT-302 portable cellular telephone (RS Cat. No. 17-1051) and a spare battery pack (Cat. No. 17-607) at the same time. USING THE CHARGER 1. Plug the supplied AC adapter's power tip into the charger. 2. Plug the AC adapter into a standard AC outlet. 3. Place the phone and/or battery pack on the charger. NOTE: The phone and battery pack fit only one way. There are two indicators on the front of the charger. The FRONT indicator shows the telephone's charging status, and the REAR indicator shows the battery pack's charging status: A steady red indicator shows the battery is fast-charging. A steady green indicator shows the battery is fully-charged. A flashing green indicator shows the battery is too hot or too cold to recharge. As soon as the battery reaches a normal temperature, charging begins. AUTOMATIC DISCHARGE The battery pack performs better and lasts longer if you occasionally let it completely discharge. The fast charger has a special automatic discharge feature that complete discharges the battery before recharging it. To use this feature, do the following: 1. Place the battery pack on the rear charging socket. 2. Press the discharge button on the back of the charger. The charger's yellow discharge indicator lights steadily and the charger's REAR indicator flashes green. 3. When the battery completely discharges, normal recharging begins. CHARGING HINTS For best results, we recommend that you recharge the battery at room temperature. This takes about 1 hour for a fully-discharged battery pack. When the battery becomes fully charged, the indicator on the charger changes from red to green. However, if a fully-charged battery is placed on the charging socket, the indicator might light red for a few seconds before it changes to green. You can leave the battery pack on the charger for several days without damaging the battery pack. However, we suggest you remove the battery pack or phone from the charger if you will be away for a week or more. (ALL-05/15/96)
