Your DUoFONE-185 telephone provides one-touch memory dialing.  This allows
you to call any telephone number, including emergency numbers, with the
press of a button.  The built-in speakerphone lets you make handsfree calls 
in your home or office.  The alarm function reminds you when an important 
call must be made.  The telephone is easy to use and will quickly become an 
invaluable addition to your home or office.

We encourage you to take the time to read this manual completely before 
operating the telephone, so that you can enjoy all its many features from 
the start.  With proper care and maintenance, this phone should give you 
years of trouble-free service.

    Liquid Crystal - alternates between the dialed telephone number and
           Display   clock displays.

    Memory Dialing - holds as many as 40 frequently called phone numbers of 
                     up to 16 digits in pulse mode or 15 digits in tone mode

  Switchable Touch - provides standard tones for tone access equipment even
     Tone or Pulse   on a rotary line.

            Redial - lets you quickly redial the last number called.

       Auto Redial - automatically redials the last number called up to 10 
                     times.

     Memory Redial - temporarily stores a telephone number so that it can be 
                     redialed repeatedly until you store a new memory redial 
                     number.

     Alarm circuit - sounds at the preset time to remind you of important 
                     events.

      Speakerphone - allows hands-free conversation.

       Hearing-Aid - allows you to use your telephone comfortably if you
     Compatibility   wear a hearing aid equipped with a T (telephone)
                     switch.

Desk or Wall Mount.

IMPORTANT:  We have designed your telephone to conform to federal regula-
            tions and you can connect it to most telephone lines.  However, 
            each telephone (or other product, such as a telephone answering 
            machine) that you connect to your phone line draws power from 
            the line.  We refer to this power draw as the device's Ringer 
            Equivalence Number or REN.  If you are using more that one 
            product on the line, add up all the RENs.  If the total is more 
            than five, your telephones might not ring.  In some rural areas 
            a total REN of three might impair ringer telephone.

Your telephone complies with Part 68 of FCC Rules.  You must, upon request, 
provide the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) registration number and 
the REN to your telephone company.  These numbers are located on the bottom 
of the phone.

NOTE:  You must not connect the telephone to:

       Coin-operated systems

       Party-line systems

       Most electronic key telephone systems

For your own protection, we urge you to record the serial number of this 
phone in the space provided below. The serial number is located on the label 
on the bottom of the phone.
