DUoFONE-210 2-Line SpeakerPhone with Auto-Dialer (430-0615) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 34454 Your DUoFONE-210 is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for the telephone so that you can enjoy it for years. Keep the telephone dry. If it does get wet, wipe it dry immediately. Liquids can contain minerals that can corrode the electronic circuits. Use and store the telephone only in normal temperature environments. High temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices and distort or melt plastic parts. Handle the telephone gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage circuit boards and cases and can cause the telephone to work improperly. Keep the telephone away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts. Wipe the telephone with a wet cloth to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the telephone. Use only fresh batteries. Always dispose of the old batteries promptly. Modifying or tampering with the telephone's internal components can cause a malfunction and invalidate the telephone's warranty. If your telephone is not performing as it should, take it to your local Radio Shack store. Our personnel can assist you and arrange for service if needed. THE FCC WANTS YOU TO KNOW It is very unlikely, however, if your DUoFONE-210 causes problems on the phone line, the telephone company has the right to discontinue your service temporarily. If this happens, the telephone company notifies you and gives you a chance to have the problem corrected. Also, the telephone company has the right to change its lines and/or equipment. If these changes affect your DUoFONE-210 or its connection, the phone company notifies you in writing so that you can take the necessary steps to ensure uninterrupted service. LIGHTNING Your DUoFONE-210 has built-in protection circuits, which meet or exceed FCC requirements, to reduce the risk of damage from surges in telephone or AC line currents. However, lightning striking near or on these lines can cause an excessive surge of voltage that can damage the phone. Lightning damage is uncommon. However, if you are concerned about it or live in an area with frequent and/or severe electrical storms, we suggest that you unplug your electronic equipment during the storms. (LB/EB 08/27/96)
