ET-291 Two-Line Trim-Fone Telephone (430-0621) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 34507 We do not expect you to have any problems with your phone, but if you do these guidelines might help. If someone picks up another phone on the same line, the volume level might drop or you might hear unusual sounds. If your phone does not work or works poorly, check the connection to the phone line. If the call is too noisy, hang up and redial the number. If you still have problems, disconnect the phone. If other phones on the same line work properly, the fault is in this phone or its installation. If you cannot locate the problem, take your phone to your local Radio Shack store where our personnel can assist you. FCC NOTICE It is most unlikely, but if your phone causes problems on the phone line, the phone company notifies you and gives you a chance to correct the problem. Also, the phone company can change its lines or equipment. If these changes affect your phone (or require changes in the phone or its connection), the phone company notifies you in writing so that you can take steps to ensure uninterrupted service. LIGHTNING Your phone has protection circuits that meet or exceed FCC requirements to reduce the risk of damage from surges in phone lines. However, lightning striking near or on these lines can damage the phone device. Lightning damage is uncommon. However, if this concerns you, or if you live in an area with frequent and/or severe electrical storms, we suggest that you unplug your electrical equipment during the storms. (YO/EB 9/3/96)
