CP 1700 (170-1016) Operation Faxback Doc. # 9628 Placing, Receiving, and Ending Calls You may place a call manually, by using the redial function, or by recalling a number from the memory. NOTE: For best call quality, keep the antenna free from obstructions and pointed straight up. Manually Place a Call You can enter your number with the handset off or on the cradle. Use the numeric keypad as you would for any push-button phone and press SEND. As you enter each digit, the number appears on the LCD. The LCD displays only 10 digits at a time. As you enter more digits, the phone number shifts off the left side of the LCD. To view the numbers that have shifted off the LCD to the left, Press RCL <*. To view the numbers that have shifted off the LCD to the right, Press RCL #>. Make Corrections Press CLR to erase the last digit entered. To erase additional digits, press CLR repeatedly. To erase the entire number, Press and Hold CLR until the beep ends (in about a second) or Press RCL CLR. Redial Last Number Called The last number called is stored in memory. To redial the number, Press SEND. To display the number before redialing, Press RCL 0 0. Use Memory to Place a Call To place a call using a number stored in memory: 1. Press RCL and the two digit code for the memory location (e.g. 1 0). The stored number is displayed on the LCD. 2. Press SEND. NOTE: If a pause has been programmed in the stored number, the CP 1700 dials only up to the pause, and then stops. To continue dialing, Press SEND again. (See the "Program a Pause" section.) 3. To end the call hand up, or Press END. Receiving a Call When you receive an incoming call, you hear the Alert Tone and CALL-# appears on the LCD. To answer the call, pickup the handset and begin your conversation. If the handset is already off the cradle, Press SEND. Placing a Call On Hold During a call, Press RCL 6 6, and place the Handset on the cradle. You can still hear the caller through the Monitor Speaker. Lift the Handset to return to the call. End a Call To end a call, place the Handset on the cradle, or Press SEND. 30 NUMBER MEMORY STORAGE You can have up to 32 digits in any of the 30 memory locations (01-30). Enter a number into memory: 1. Press and Hold CLR at least 0.6 seconds to clear the display. 2. Enter the digits (phone number, credit card number, etc.) to store. 3. Press STO. 4. Enter the two digit memory location number (01-30). NOTE: You must enter two digits (e.g. 0 1). 5. After the second number is pressed, the display blinks twice. NOTE: Any number previously stored in that location is erased when the new number is stored. Program a Pause Use this when two numbers are dialed one after another, such as access codes. To program a pause within a numeric sequence, press END. A P is displayed between the numbers to indicate a pause has been programmed. To CP 1700 recognizes only one pause in a sequence of numbers. Display Memory Numbers Press RCL and the 2 digit memory location number (01-30). Example: To display the number stored in memory location 10, press RCL 1 0. The display will show the lower seven digits of the number. If you need to display more of the number (such as the area code), Press RCL again. The 2 digit memory location number will be replace by the remainder of the stored number. If necessary, Press /\ or \/ to scroll up or down to display additional memory locations. Erase a Memory Number To completely erase a number store din one of the memory locations, Press CLR, then Press STO and the two digit memory number. Always use two digits, e.g. 0 6. VOLUME ADJUSTMENTS Handset Earpiece Volume In standby, Press RCL 7 5 2 to adjust the Earpiece Volume for the handset in seven levels. The display shows the level as you set it. You can also adjust the Handset Earpiece volume during a call by pressing \/ or /\. Alert Volume In Standby, Press RCL 7 5 1 /\ \/ to adjust the Alert Volume from the cradle in three levels. The display shows the level as you set it. Monitor Speaker Volume In Standby, press RCL 7 5 3 to adjust the monitor Speaker Volume in seven levels. You can also adjust the speaker volume while a call is on hold by pressing \/ or /\. Keypad Tone Volume In Standby, press RCL 7 5 4 and \/ or /\ to adjust the Keypad Tone Volume in 5 levels. System Selection 1. Press RCL 88 to recall the selected system. 2. Find the number of the system that you wish to select. 3. Press the number (1-5) and 'STO' 88. (ALL/ir-07/12/95)
