5-Volt/3 Amp Power (277-0119) Features Faxback Doc. # 15755 Supply Project-Board 277-119 is the backbone for building a very well regulated power supply incorporating many features, typically found only on very expensive modular power supplies. The output voltage changes less than 0.05% with a 105 to 135 VAC input variation or with an output current change from no load to the full rated output current. SCR overvoltage protection is provided which will short out the output if the output voltage becomes higher than 6.8 volts. Foldback current limiting is provided to limit the output current to a safe value for the power supply whenever an overload or short is applied to the output terminals. Remote sense terminals are available which will compensate for voltage drops in the leads connecting the power supply to the load. A 5-Amp Meter is available to monitor the output current. The heart of the power supply is a type 723 Integrated Circuit precision voltage regulator with an NPN Darlington series pass transistor. (br/all-06/28/95)
