5-Volt/3 Amp Power (277-0119) Circuit Board Faxback Doc. # 15756 Supply The PARTS LIST notes the parts you'll need. The Board contains letters identifying where the components are to be mounted. Also if appropriate, you'll see some outlines which indicate the position or direction that a component is to be mounted on the Board. A step-by-step assembly procedure is provided. As you mount each component check off that step in the box. SOME NOTES BEFORE YOU START Due to the small foil area around the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) holes and the small areas between the foils, you will have to use care to prevent solder bridges between adjacent foil areas. Use only a low- wattage soldering iron with a small tip. DO NOT USE A SOLDER GUN. Use only a minimum amount of solder, and do not heat components excessively with the soldering iron. Transistors and printed circuits can be damaged if subjected to excessive amounts of heat. If you keep the tip of your iron clean and coated with a fresh layer of melted solder, you'll find solder connections much easier to make. Periodically wipe off the tip of your iron on a damp rag (or "solder sponge") and melt a fresh layer of solder over it. (br/all-06/28/95)
