AC ADAPTER (273-1653B) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 16740 Follow these instructions carefully! Before using this adapter, you must select the proper tip polarity for 12V-DC products. Note: This adapter can power many large cassette portables rated 15VDC. 1. Determine which tip plug fits into the external power jack of the unit to be powered. The plug must fit snugly. 2. Before attaching the ADAPTAPLUG to the power cord, check the unit's instructions or rating plate to determine the correct tip polarity. REVERSED POLARITY CAN RESULT IN PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE SET. Common symbols for tip polarity are: + (positive) and - (negative). Then attach the ADAPTAPLUG to the power cord and plug the ADAPTAPLUG into the unit. 3. Plug the AC power adapter into a standard electrical outlet. 4. Turn on your unit. If the unit does not operate, IMMEDIATELY disconnect the adapter and check all connections. NOTE: A circuit breaker protects your AC adapter from overload damage. If your adapter fails to operate and you can see the circuit breaker reset button popped out, disconnect the output plug from the device you are attempting to power. Make sure you have made all connections correctly and that the device does not require more power than your adapter can deliver. To reset the breaker, push in the button. (LB/all-08/29/95)
