Your Radio Shack Portable Power Inverter converts 12-volt vehicle battery
power into 220 watts of 115 volts AC power.  You can use your inverter to
operate a TV, VCR, portable computer, a household appliance, lights for
emergency or campsite use, power tools, etc.

The power inverter works with the vehicle engine turned either on or off.
It provides a continuous output of up to 220 watts, sustains a temporary
output of 300 watts for approximately 5 minutes, can "cold start" a load
up to 400 watts, and provides the 600 watts (1 cycle @ 60 Hz) of surge
start-up power required by most personal computer monitors and TVs.
