12V 1A Power Supply (277-0104) Assembly Instructions Faxback Doc. # 9526 WARNING: The transformer will have 120 volts across the primary, therefore, it is very important that you insulate the completed Project properly. NOTE: Solder all leads on the copper side of the P.C. Board and clip the excess wire as you perform each step. 1. Mount the following parts in order: a. R1, 680 Resistor (blue, gray, brown). b. R2, 2.2 K Resistor (red, red, red). c. R4, 3.9 K Resistor (Orange, white, red). d. CR1, CR2, CR3, and CR4, 1 A 50 PIV Diodes. Be careful to mount them in the proper direction (anode ─>─|─ cathode) as shown on the P. C. board. e. CR5, 1 W 6 V Zener Diode. Note polarity (anode ─>─ cathode) on the P. C. Board. f. Q2, RS2009 Transistor. Be sure to align the emitter, base, collector, with EBC on the P. C. Board. g. R3, 1K variable Resistor (Trip Pot). Position as shown on the P. C. Board. h. Q1, RS2019 Transistor. Be sure to align the emitter, base, collector, with EBC on the P. C. Board. NOTE: The mounting tab, or heatsink, must be secured to the case. We suggest that you purchase two "L" brackets so that you can mount the P. C. Board in a vertical position, which will allow you to fasten the mounting tab to the bottom of the case. 2. As you mount the electrolytic capacitors, be sure to observe polarity - the plus and minus signs - on the P. C. Board. a. C1 and C2, 22uF Electrolytic Capacitors. b. C3, 3300uF Electrolytic Capacitor. c. C4, 220uF Electrolytic Capacitor. (ALL-01/25/95)
