Three-In-One Easy (150-1916) Operation Faxback Doc. # 16721 Remote 1. Press the device key for the device you want to control. 2. Point the 3-in-1 toward the device and press PWR to turn it on. 3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for other devices. 4. Point the 3-in-1 toward the device you want to control and press the desired command keys. The command keys on the 3-in-1 work the same as the keys on the device's original remote control; however, the labeling might differ slightly. 5. To turn off the last device you selected, press PWR. To turn off other devices, press the device key for the device you want to turn off, and then press PWR. PUNCH THROUGH The punch-through feature lets you alternately control two different devices without pressing the device keys for each one first. Here's how it works. No device uses all of the 3-in-1's keys. For example, a TV is often the only deice that uses the VOL keys, and a VCR is usually the only device that uses keys such as REWIND, FAST F, and RECORD. When you press TV and then press VCR, any keys not used by the VCR can still control the TV. If your cable box or VCR has a volume control, you can turn off the punch- through feature. This allows your cable box or VCR to control the volume of your TV set (if it can already do so). If you want to control the volume through your cable box, you must press CBL first then the P key briefly. For Example: CBL - P - 9 - 9 - 9 - CBL - VOL (up arrow) NOTE: Do not press and hold P. When the indicator blinks three times, you can control the volume through your cable box. To turn the punch-through feature back on, repeat the procedure. If you want to control the volume through your VCR, you must press VCR. For example: VCR - P - 9 - 9 - 9 - VCR - VOL (up arrow) NOTE: Do not press and hold P. When the indicator blinks three times, you can control the volume through your VCR. To turn the punch-through feature back on, repeat the procedure. The punch-through feature does not work if the last two devices you select have the same (or similar) keys. For example, most TVs and VCRs have channel keys on their remote controls. In this case, you would have to press the desired device key before you use the 3-in-1's channel keys. AUTOMATICALLY SCANNING CHANNELS S is a special key located between the VOL and CHAN keys. It lets you easily browse through channels on your TV, VCR, and cable box. When you press S, the 3-in-1 remote control automatically steps through the channels of your TV, VCR, or cable box. To stop scanning, press any key. The following lists show which 3-digit codes to enter to set up the 3-in-1 for your remote controlled devices. NOTES: The 3-in-1 might not always have every command that your original remote controls have. Use the label included with the 3-in-1 to record the Manufacturers' Codes (Faxback Doc. # 16722) for your remote controlled devices. (/all-08/28/95)
