Three-In-One Easy (150-1916) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 16723 Remote SCANNING THE CODES If the 3-in-1 does not control your remote controlled devices when you first set it up, you probably haven't entered the correct 3-digit codes for your devices. You can try all the codes for the brand of your device, but because many manufacturers make products using several different brand names, you might want to search the 3-in-1's entire library of codes as follows: 1. Manually turn on the device you are trying to set up. 2. Aim the 3-in-1 at the device. 3. Press down and hold P until the red indicator blinks twice. 4. While holding down P, repeatedly press PWR then the desired device key (TV, VCR, or CBL) until the device responds. Each time you press PWR then the device key, the 3-in-1 advances to the next manufacturer's code in its list. 5. When the device responds, release P to lock in the manufacturer's code. If necessary, repeat these steps for each device key. CHECKING THE DEVICE CODE To determine which 3-digit code the 3-in-1 is set to for a particular device, press and hold P until the red indicator blinks twice. While continuing to hold down P, press the device key (TV, VCR, or CBL) then press 1. The 3-in-1 "blinks out" the number of the first digit. For example, if the first digit is 2, the red indicator blinks twice. While continuing to hold down P, press 2 for the second digit, then press 3 for the third digit. NOTES: If the device code has a 0 in it, the red indicator does not blink for that number of the 3-digit code. If the 3-in-1 stops working after you successfully test the control of each device, or if you are unable to get the 3-in-1 to work at all, check the following: Be sure you press the device key for the device you want to control. Check and replace the batteries, if necessary. Confirm that your remote controlled devices are working properly using manual controls or their original remotes. If some buttons do not work for your device, you might be able to scan to a better device code.
