TC-193 13" Cable-Compatible Color Television (160-0229) Care and Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 18249 Your TV is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for the TV so that you can enjoy it for years. Keep the TV dry. If it does get wet, wipe it dry immediately. Liquids can contain minerals that corrode the electronic circuits. For the remote control, use only fresh batteries of the recommended size and type. Always remove old or weak batteries. They can leak chemicals that can damage electronic circuits. Handle the TV gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage its circuit boards and case and can cause it to work improperly. Use and store the TV only in normal temperature environments. Extreme temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices, and distort or melt plastic parts. Keep the TV away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts. Wipe the TV with a dampened cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the TV. The TV has ventilation holes to allow heat to dissipate properly. Obstructing these holes or placing the TV in a confined location can prevent proper ventilation and cause malfunctions to occur. Modifying or tampering with the TV's internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate the TV's warranty. If the TV is not operating as it should, the suggestions in the troubleshooting chart might help. If you still need assistance, take the TV to your local Radio Shack store where our personnel can arrange for service if needed. (CD 11/7/95)
