Model 151 MovieCorder (160-0852) Dew Protection System Faxback Doc. # 18466 Moisture can collect inside the camcorder under certain conditions. This can damage the camcorder when the tape moves. To prevent this damage, a DEW flashes in the viewfinder when it detects moisture, and the camcorder does not operate until the moisture is gone. In such cases, press [EJECT] and remove the cassette. Then, wait until DEW disappears from the viewfinder. The time required depends on the surrounding temperature. CAUTION: Moisture can form very quickly when you move the camcorder from a cold area to a warmer one, and it might take the dew sensor a few minutes to activate. Always allow the camcorder to adjust to room temperature before operating it. Moisture on a Tape If moisture condenses on a tape when it is moved from a cold place to a warm place, CASSETTE flashes when you press any control button [(PLAY], etc., and only [EJECT] functions. Note that DEW does not appear. Remove the cassette, and let it dry naturally. (CS 11/6/95)
