Model 151 MovieCorder (160-0852) Viewfinder Faxback Doc. # 18478 ADJUSTING THE VIEWFINDER Proper adjustment of the viewfinder lets you see exactly what the camcorder sees. 1. Press [POWER] to the right so that the POWER indicator lights. 2. Look through the viewfinder and use auto or manual focus to focus the camcorder's lens. 3. Move the viewfinder's adjustment lever left or right until you see the clearest possible image in the viewfinder. NOTES: Each person who uses the camcorder might have to re-adjust the viewfinder. The BRIGHT and FOCUS controls on the bottom of the viewfinder are set at the factory and should not normally need adjustment. If you cannot focus the viewfinder's image or if it is not bright enough, adjust these controls using a small Phillips screwdriver. VIEWFINDER PLAYBACK After making a recording, you can play it back through the viewfinder and listen through an optional earphone or headset with a 1/8" plug. Or you can also play it back on your TV. See "Playback on a TV," Faxback Doc. # . 1. Press [STOP]. 2. Press [REWIND] to return the tape to the beginning or to the place you want to begin playback. See "Real-Time Counter with Memory," Faxback Doc. # , Recording Features. 3. Press [PLAY] and watch the picture in the viewfinder. See "Special Playback Functions," Faxback Doc. # , Playback Features. 4. Insert an earphone or headset with a 1/8" plug into the camcorder's EARPHONE jack. The volume level is set to an average listening level. 5. Press [STOP] to end playback, and press [EJECT] to remove the cassette. You can eject a tape only when the power is on. NOTE: If the tape was recorded in another VCR, the beginning of the tape might not be correctly reproduced because of differences in tape loading systems. INDICATORS IN THE VIEWFINDER There are several indicators that appear in the viewfinder as you operate your camcorder. PAUSE (FLASHING) - appears when the camcorder is in the record-pause mode. REC - appears when you are recording. TAPE (Flashing) - tells you there is only about 5 minutes of tape left. DEW (Flashing) - tells you the DEW sensor has been activated. See "Dew Protection System," Faxback Doc. # 18466. BATTERY (Flashing) - tells you the battery pack's power is low. CASSETTE (Flashing) - tells you one of the following: Cassette is not loaded Cassette is erase-protected Cassette is at the end of its tape There is moisture on the tape The camcorder cannot record normally M 0:00:00 - indicates the real-time position of the tape. 2.14.90 (Example Only) - tells you that the date is being recorded on the tape. PM 2:14 (Example Only) - tells you the time is being recorded on the tape. 1000 - tells you the high-speed shutter feature is selected. AF or MF - tells you that automatic focus (AF) or manual focus (MF) is selected. (CS 11/6/95)
