Connecting an Audio Source Connect the audio source's (such as a playback VCR, CD, cassette tape deck, tuner, or turntable) left and right output jacks to the enhancer/mixer's left and right MUSIC IN jacks. Connecting a Microphone To add narration into the recording, connect a microphone (not supplied) to the enhancer/mixer's front MIC jack. The microphone must have a 1/8 inch mini plug. (We recommend Cat. No. 33-1060). NOTE: Radio Shack offers a wide selection of microphones to choose from. OUTPUT CONNECTIONS Connecting a VCR 1. Connect the enhanced/mixer's VIDEO OUT jack to the recording VCR's video input jack. 2. If your VCR is stereo, connect the enhancer/mixer's left AUDIO OUT jack to the VCR's left audio input jack. If your VCR is monaural, connect the enhancer/mixer's left AUDIO OUT jack to the VCR's left audio input jack. NOTE: Be sure your VCR's audio and video output jacks connect to your TV/monitor's audio and video input jacks. Connecting Headphones To monitor the sound level while recording, connect a pair of stereo headphones (not supplied) to the enhancer/mixer's front PHONES jack. The headphones must have a 1/8-inch mini plug. (We recommend Cat. No. 33- 1022).) Hearing Comfort and Your Health To protect your hearing, follow these guidelines when you use headphones. Always start by setting the volume to the lowest level possible before you begin listening. Put the earphone or headphones on, then gradually increase the volume as necessary. Do not listen at extremely high volume levels, especially using an earphone. Extended, high-volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss. Once you set the volume, do not increase it. Over a period of time, your ears adapt to the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause discomfort might still damage your hearing. CONNECTING AC POWER Connect the supplied AC adapter's barrel plug to the 12V DC jack. Connect the AD adapter's other end to a standard 12V AC outlet. CAUTION: Use only an AC adapter that supplies 12 volts DC, delivers 100 milliamps, and has a center positive plug. Using an adapter that does not meet these specifications could damage the enhancer/mixer or the adapter. (ALL-01/03/95)
